THE DRINKS IN CAMBODIA

Like everywhere in Asia, tea, although not cultivated in Cambodia, is a drink consumed daily by everyone.

As the water from the taps is not drinkable, tea ultimately constitutes a practical solution, having the double advantage of requiring boiled water thus made suitable for consumption, and eliminating any unpleasant aftertaste with its fragrance.

Also very appreciated, the coffee, produced in the province of Rattanakiri, and also imported from Vietnam. Small stalls preparing the powerful nectar are easily found, both in town and in the countryside.
There are also a number of cold drinks made from locally grown products, such as orange, sugar cane or soy juice, to be consumed by the minute, along with a wide choice of canned drinks.

The most consumed alcoholic drink in the Kingdom is undoubtedly beer. Its strong popularity has led to the production of different brands for the local market, such as Angkor beer, Anchor beer, Bayon beer, Phnom Penh beer, Klang beer, Kingdom beer, and the latest (2011) Cambodia beer alongside without shame the usual brands.

However, there are rice spirits and, specific to Cambodia, palm wines produced more or less by craftsmen.
Also of note is an attempt to produce wine and brandy by a producer located in Banon, Battambang province.
