MAIN ATTRACTIONS
River Park Kampot - The beautiful place in Kampot Province
Phnom Bokor - ភ្នំបូកគោ (or rather what's left of it)
Toek Chhu
The Toek Chhu site, located in the village of Snom Pram Pi just under 10 kilometers from the city of Kampot, offers a pleasant setting for a day of picnicking and swimming. A wide variety of fruit trees (Kampot fruits, especially durian, mangosteen, are greatly appreciated throughout the country) will delight lovers of exotic fruits.
Phnom Kompong Trach
A few kilometers from Kep, the limestone mountains of Kompong Trach are home to a cave with rather spectacular cut out contours opening onto a large "well", an ancient place of worship for the Khmers, as well as for the Vietnamese and Chinese minorities living in the vicinity. From there, two other "wells" of more modest size are accessible, formerly sets very popular with film directors.
Phnom Chngok and Phnom Kbal Romeas
Halfway between Kep and the provincial town of Kampot, near road 33, the archaeological sites of Phnom Kbal Romeas and Phnom Chhngok offer a view of ancient troglodyte temples dating from pre-Angkorian times. If not much remains of the small sanctuary of Kbal Romeas, the temple of Phnom Chhngok is spectacular and the countryside surrounding this site is worth the detour in itself.
