INTRODUCTION
The province of Kandal literally surrounds the capital of Cambodia, and Ta Khmau, or Black Grandfather, its prefecture, is only ten kilometers away.
The province, with a surface area of approximately 3,500 km², extends south to Vietnam. It takes about 4 hours from Phnom Penh, to reach the border by car via national road 1.

The population of Kandal province is approximately 1,300,000 people, spread over 11 districts:
- Kandal Steung - Leuk Daek - Ponhea Lueu
- Kien Svay - Lvea Aem - S'ang
- Khsach Kandal - Muk Ampul - Ta Khmau
- Koh Thum - Angk Snuol
With around 75% of its inhabitants working in agriculture, only half of whom specialize in rice cultivation, Kandal province is one of the country's main market gardening provinces.

Koh Dach - The Silk Island
Also known as Mekong Island, Koh Dach is known for its silk craft center, although most of its inhabitants cultivate fruits and vegetables there and, in addition to these agricultural activities, many weavers make silk. traditional Haul and Pha Moung fabrics as well as the famous Krama.

Phnom Udong
40 km north of Phnom Penh, the site of Udong, once the capital of the Kingdom during the 17th and 18th centuries, is made up of small hills, the highest of which is surmounted by a stupa housing the remains of kings Anduong and Monivong. At the foot of the mountain, a market, restaurants and small huts allow visitors to eat before starting a walk that will allow them to admire the magnificent view that extends over the plain.

A pretty pond at the foot of the hill makes this place a typical landscape, where the boats take the fishermen to the surface of the water where you can admire the bright color of the lily pads -prolit. It is a place where the Khmers of the surroundings like to come to stroll the traditional days of festival.
